ENGINEERING IN DELHI...RANKING THE COLLEGES

Well..there's no matching the IIT-D. But here's something to keep things ticking!!!
A +Grade
NSIT - A sister concern of Delhi College of Engineering, with the same entrance exam, it is the preferred choice for toppers. The campus is located in far off Dwarka. Connectivity has increased with the advent of the metro. Boasts of Moksha, the second biggest cultural fest after IIT D. Attracts excellent companies for recruitment.
DCE - The oldest engineering college in Delhi. It has a solid reputation, and has one of the toughest entrances outside the IITs. However, several faculty posts are lying vacant. Last year, it attracted the likes of Google, Yahoo and Siemens for placement. A lush campus in Shahbad Daulatpur makes it a haven for sports as well as nature lovers.

A Grade
Jamia Milia, Faculty of Engineering and Technology - Rigorous academics, good placements, but limited seats. --------------------------------------...
B + Grade
IP University - University School of Information Technology (USIT) offers an M.Tech (Integrated) five and half year course after 10+2. More famous for the University School of Chemical Technology which is one of the few of departments of repute outside IITs. However, shortage of faculty and less number of seats are problems.
Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology [MAIT] located in the secluded, and serene environment of Rohini, sector 22 has emerged as the top college under the IPU tag of late. Nice infrastructure, good labs and teachers and ofcourse the students.:-) Good placement records wid some elite IT companies like IBM visiting the campus is another thing to look out for...
Bharatiya Vidyapeeth College Of Engineering[BVCOE] located at Paschim Vihar, it has been the flag bearer of GGSIPU. Retired profs from the more elite colleges and some renowned faculty of their own, makes this a preferred destination of those who can't make it to DCE/ NSIT. A good placement cell but no hostel.
Institute of Mgmt and Tech, Gurgaon - This is one of the preferred colleges for Delhiites as it is located very close to the border. Also a management institute, this is one of the flag bearers of the Haryana CET colleges.
JSS Academy of Technical Education: It is one of the older institutes in NOIDA. It is affiliated to Uttar Pradesh Technical University and a top choice under UPCET. JSS has decent faculty, good labs, and library and hostel facilities for girls and boys. Placement also rocks. It is one of the best private colleges.
Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, NOIDA - It's a deemed university. The college has a good infrastructure and student facilities. It follows an innovative grading system and is project oriented. The placement is good.
Choturam Arya College of Engg, Sonepat - Is one of the better colleges in Haryana, after NIT Kurukshetra. It’s famous for its core branches of Mechanical and Civil Engg. YMCA, Faridabad - A college known for its facilities and faculty, though the student base is not necessarily the best. This year, the likes of Sapient and the very coveted Adobe came to recruit students for jobs. The extensive curriculum makes it a worthwhile experience.

B Grade
Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology: Being a minority institution, it attracts a lot of Sikh students. It has a good library, and the computer centre is also equipped with the best facilities. The cramped campus in Hari Nagar looks more like a primary school than an engineering college. But reasonable placements and an experienced faculty add up to the total package. Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Tech - The campus is located in the far flung sector 22 of Rohini, a better deal than the old campus located at Sultanpuri! Again, the flourishing IT sector means a lot of jobs with decent starting packages. Galgotia's College of Engineering and Technology, Greater Noida A college which is coming up, boasts of good results placement. Amity School of Engg and Tech - Their status was challenged for a year when it ran out of Amity Intl. School. Then they shifted to a 3 floored residential area campus in Brijwasan Area of south west Delhi located 5 kms from the airport. The classrooms and labs are quite small. Reasonable placements from the likes of Infosys and TCS make it a worthwhile option.
Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Tech - One of the newer colleges, the campus is located at C-4 Janakpuri and is quite decent when compared to the other private colleges in the north. Also has other facilities running from the same campus, which make it a hotchpotch of sorts.
PD Memorial College, Bahadurgarh - The usual run of the mill college, located just outside the border. Attracts students from Delhi, especially the west Delhi area due to the proximity. Ok placements.

C Grade
Guru Premsukh Memorial College of Engineering - Their image took a hit when AICTE withheld its approval for a year. After operating from a small and highly cramped 3 floor facility in Sector 13, Rohini, the campus has shifted to another cramped area near the Sonepat bypass. Not quite the place to be.

all the best!!!!
